In conjunction with the Singapore Maritime Technology Conference (SMTC) 2019, the Singapore Maritime Institute will be organising the SMTC R&D Seminar in partnership with the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) Centre of Excellence in Modelling and Simulation for Next Generation Ports (C4NGP). The SMTC R&D Seminar will gather industry professionals, academia, researchers and government representatives to discuss the essential elements of building a strong maritime research and development ecosystem and share the efforts towards supporting the Sea Transport Industrial Transformation Map to enhance the competitiveness of the maritime industry in Singapore.
Themed “Ports of the Future”, the SMTC R&D Seminar will bring together key decision makers from the international/local maritime and research community to share their perspectives on enabling the transformation of the port through digitalisation, research and innovation. Participants comprising senior/mid-management representatives from the industry and academia can expect presentations by distinguished industry and academia leaders and experts.
SMI will also be presenting the Singapore Maritime R&D Roadmap 2030 at this event along with the award presentation of the research projects granted under the 2nd Joint Call by the Research Council of Norway (RCN) and SMI in the presence of the Ambassador of Norway to the Republic of Singapore, Her Excellency Anita Nergaard. The winner of the Low Cost LNG Retrofit (LCLR) Challenge, jointly organised by the Nanyang Technological University’s (NTU) Maritime Energy and Sustainable Development (MESD) Centre of Excellence, Shell and DNV GL, will also be revealed at the event.
