The second edition of the MSC Maritime Summit Case Challenge (MMSCC) organised by the Maritime Singapore Connect (MSC) Office was run completely virtual.
MMSCC 2020 was organised to challenge undergraduates to solve real-life challenges faced by maritime companies whilst working in teams. They had the chance to impress the senior management of PACC Offshore Services Holdings (POSH), PSA and Thome Group with their bright ideas and fresh perspectives.
There were two rounds for this case competition – a Preliminary Round with corporate case studies, followed by the Grand Finals. Here, the three finalist teams had 24 hours to develop their best solutions and impress the panel of judges from POSH, PSA, Thome, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), and the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF).
In place of the MSC Maritime Summit Dinner in 2019, the event finale was modified for the Top 3 teams to receive a rare opportunity to be In Conversation with Senior Maritime Leaders. Participants were able to network with the Senior Management of POSH, PSA, Thome Group and SMF over conversations.
This year, the MSC Office also increased the level of support garnered from the participating companies. In addition to the cash prize, the three participating maritime companies kindly agreed to offer internship positions to the finalist teams.
